About Me

Ever since I was young, I’ve been fascinated with food and our relationship to it. I remember being amazed and still am by the affect food has on our bodies and how it literally makes up who we are; like they say we are what we eat.
Learning about nutrition over the years, I saw so many conflicting views and what felt like a new health fad or diet coming out every day. Who was right? Which “way” was best? What to eat and what not to eat, that was the question. I knew I wanted to be the happiest and healthiest me possible but I did not want to obsess over calories and crazy fad diets. I wanted to find my own way that worked for me.
In 2014 I started learning about the healing properties of essential oils and herbal medicine after being introduced to a wonderful essential oil company - doTERRA. I started seeing amazing results in myself and those around me through the use of these potent and powerful drops of oil.

In 2015 my love of nutrition took me to Vancouver, Canada train at with ‘The Institute of Holistic Nutrition,’ one of the very best years of my life. I chose the institute because everything they taught and stood for aligned with my beliefs and values about nutrition, health and wellness. I went on to work as a private holistic chef, a nutritional consultant, a natural health adviser and a supplement specialist, as well as continuing my passion for essential oils and their healing properties.

All my learning has taught me that there is no one “right way” our bodies are unique and that’s why I work with people in the way that I do. Learning never ends, as our bodies grow and age we need to learn and grow with them and give our body what it needs to thrive. That’s why I believe in a holistic approach to health and wellness. There is a whole world of flavour and variety out there for us to enjoy.
I now work with people to achieve their health goals in a way that works for them, giving advice, support and guidance so they can be the happiest and healthiest they can be.

FAQ's

Where did you study?

Not everyone knows this, but I actually have a degree in Stage Management, which I completed over ten years ago at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. In 2015 I went back to education to study Holistic Nutrition as the Institute of Holistic Nutrition in Vancouver Canada. I chose this school because everything they taught and stood for corresponded with my personal beliefs about nutrition and attneding that school was one of the best years of my life. Studying there with others who had very like minded ways of thinking just felt like coming home.

Are you Vegan or Vegetarian?

No. I am very pro the plant-based lifestyle, and the main bulk of my diet is plant based, but I do not feel the need to subscribe to any one type of diet or way of eating. I believe the planet has so many wonderful food all for our benefit and by enjoying the wonderful variety in nature we can live a healthy and abundant life. This being said I don't knock anyone who does eat that way, I think we all just need to find the right way to eat for our own bodies and what makes us thrive and for me animal protein works really well in my diet and make me feel my best.

Do you think supplements are good for us?

Just like food, the quality of your supplements means everything. Poor quality supplements can actually do more harm than good and contain a lot of additives, fillers and nasty things we don't want to ingest. This being said good quality supplements are a great additive to your diet and lifestyle. Because of the food system, the busy lives we lead, and our on the go lifestyles unfortunately many of us are not getting the level of nutrients we need on a daily basis, so taking some good quality supplements can help us feel at our best and deal with any challenging ailments we may be facing.

What supplements do you take?

This changes depending on what I feel my body needs, how much stress I'm under and the time of year. Right now I'm taking a high quality bovine collagen and hylauronic acid mix each day for my joints and to keep my skin healthy and glowing, I take a good quality fish oil, this is important for brain function and cardiovascular health. I take a whole food form of Vitamin C such a Camu Camu or Acerola powder. I take Vitamin D3 and K2 for bone health and I take a great hormone balancing supplement which includes tumeric, vitex, 1-3-C and other nutrients to help balance estrogen levels, as I've suffered for years with ovarian cysts and painful periods so this helps to manage those symptoms

Do you eat sugar?

Yes. Let's be realistic here, I'm not perfect, and I don't think being healthy is about 'perfection', it's about balance. I have a huge sweet tooth, which I am still learning to curb. I used to eat a lot of sugary treats, however, I definitely don't eat as much as I used to. When you start to eat less sugar and more whole foods your cravings lessen, and it doesn't have the same appeal. If I want to reach for a sugary treat I'll go for some dark chocolate (I love Green and Blacks or Montezuma's) and who can resist going out for ice cream on summer's evenings?!
